SILENCERCO SCYTHE TI SUPPRESSOR - ULTRALIGHT TITANIUM, 5.56 THROUGH .300 RUM

The SilencerCo Scythe Ti is an ultralight .30 caliber rifle suppressor and SilencerCo's first silencer built entirely from titanium, pairing Grade 5 and Grade 9 titanium in a fully welded design made for hunting and precision rifles. With the Single-Port Anchor Brake installed, it weighs 7.3 oz and measures 6.16" long, with a 1.73" diameter. The Scythe Ti (model SU5328) is rated for .223 REM/5.56 NATO through .300 RUM with no barrel length restrictions, and its gray Type II anodize exterior is oil dipped for a durable finish.

That caliber range covers the cartridges most hunters and precision shooters actually run, including 5.56 NATO, 300 BLK, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Win, and 300 Win Mag, on up to .300 RUM. Designed with bolt-action rifles in mind, the Scythe Ti is rated for both bolt-action and semi-automatic rifles, which makes it a natural fit for backcountry hunting rigs where every ounce counts. SilencerCo does not recommend excessive rapid fire with the Scythe Ti, since titanium is rated to handle 800 degrees and high rates of fire can damage the material.

Out of the box, the Scythe Ti is ready to thread onto most .30 cal rifles, with a 5/8x24 titanium direct thread mount and a .30 cal Single-Port Anchor Brake installed at the factory. That omnidirectional brake reduces recoil while keeping overall length short. The rear uses HUB (1.375x24) threads, which SilencerCo calls its Bravo interface, so the can works with the SilencerCo Bravo Direct Thread Mount, the lighter SilencerCo Titanium Bravo Direct Thread Mount, and the SilencerCo Bravo ASR Mount paired with ASR muzzle devices like the ASR Flash Hider or ASR Muzzle Brake. The SilencerCo Thread Over Mount (TOM) with a TOMD Compact Radial Brake is another quick-attach option, and HUB adapters such as the Dead Air KeyMo Adapter and Plan B by Q Suppressor Adapter add third-party mounting options.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

Weight is the whole story with the Scythe Ti. At 7.3 oz, it's the kind of suppressor you forget is on the rifle until you pull the trigger, and for anyone carrying a rifle up a mountain or through a long day of still hunting, that matters far more than a spec sheet comparison. Keeping it at 6.16" also means your rifle stays balanced and easy to handle in a stand or blind. To us, it hits the perfect balance of being ultralight, sounding good, and keeping a compact footprint.

What makes it more than a lightweight novelty is the caliber coverage. A lot of titanium hunting cans come with barrel length minimums or stop short of true magnums. The Scythe Ti is rated all the way to .300 RUM with no barrel restrictions, so you can run it on a short-barreled .308, a 6.5 Creedmoor, or a full-size magnum without checking a chart first. The preinstalled Single-Port Anchor Brake is a smart inclusion too, helping tame felt recoil on heavier cartridges without adding length. Mounting stays flexible as well. Start with the included 5/8x24 direct thread mount, then move to a SilencerCo ASR setup, Dead Air KeyMo, or Plan B by Q if you want to share the can across multiple rifles.

We see the Scythe Ti as a hunting and precision rifle can first. It's right at home on bolt guns and handles lighter semi-auto use well. If you like everything about the Scythe Ti but plan to run a rifle harder, the SilencerCo Scythe STM is a great option, trading some weight for stainless steel construction, a modular design, and a full-auto rating. For its intended role, the Scythe Ti is one of the most practical titanium .30 cal suppressors you can put on a hunting rifle.
