SILENCERCO SCYTHE STM SUPPRESSOR - MODULAR, FULL-AUTO RATED, 5.56 TO .300 RUM

The SilencerCo Scythe STM is a modular, full-auto rated .30 caliber rifle suppressor built from laser welded 17-4 stainless steel and rated for .223 REM/5.56 NATO through .300 RUM. With the Single-Port Anchor Brake installed, it measures 6.9" in the long configuration and 5.1" in the short configuration, and it weighs 15.7 oz long or 10.4 oz short. Removing the top module switches between the two, giving you a compact setup for maneuverability or a full-length can for maximum sound suppression and recoil reduction. The 1.73" diameter body wears a black High Temp Cerakote finish that helps protect it through hard use and extreme heat.

Hunting rifles, precision bolt guns, and AR-15s are all good hosts for the Scythe STM. There are no barrel length restrictions and no firing schedule restrictions, so it can stay mounted on short-barreled rifles and guns that see high rates of fire. The included Single-Port Anchor Brake is an omnidirectional brake that reduces recoil while keeping overall length short. In the long configuration, SilencerCo rates the Scythe STM at 127.4 dB on 5.56 NATO from a 16" AR and 128.6 dB on .308 Win from a 20" bolt-action rifle.

Mounting runs on SilencerCo's Bravo/HUB (1.375x24) interface. Every Scythe STM ships with a 5/8x24 Bravo Direct Thread Mount, and it's compatible with all Bravo front caps and mounting systems, including the Titanium Bravo Direct Thread Mount, the Bravo ASR Mount for quick attach/detach use with ASR muzzle devices, and the Bravo Thread Over Mount (TOM). Because Bravo shares the 1.375x24 HUB thread, adapters like the Dead Air KeyMo Adapter and Plan B by Q open up other QD systems, along with our full selection of Bravo/HUB-compatible mounts.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

We think the Scythe STM is one of the best general purpose rifle cans on the market, and versatility is the reason why. The modular design basically gets you two silencers in one. Run it short when size matters, like on a short rifle or out on a hunt, then put the top module back on when you want everything as quiet as possible or can spare the extra length on a precision rifle.

There isn't one host that's best for the STM. It's just as good on a bolt-action hunting rifle as it is on your competition AR-15, and it's hard to overstate how well it does across that many platforms. The Bravo/HUB mount is a big part of that, since direct thread or nearly any popular QD system on the market is an option. If saving weight on a lightweight build matters more to you than modularity and a full-auto rating, the all-titanium SilencerCo Scythe-Ti is worth a look too.
