SILENCERCO OMEGA 36M SUPPRESSOR - MODULAR, MULTI-CALIBER, 5.7X28 TO .338 LAPUA

The SilencerCo Omega 36M is a modular, multi-caliber, and multi-platform suppressor built for pistols, submachine guns, and rifles. Its fully welded construction combines 17-4 stainless steel, titanium, Cobalt 6, and Inconel under a black Cerakote finish, and it is full-auto rated in both its long and short configurations. The Omega 36M is rated from 5.7x28 to 9mm on pistol calibers and from 5.56 NATO to .338 Lapua Magnum on rifles, up to 350 Legend. Depending on configuration, it measures 4.90" to 6.85" long and weighs 9.8 to 12.5 oz, with a 1.56" diameter.

The two-piece modular design lets you remove the front section for a shorter, lighter suppressor, or run the full configuration for maximum sound suppression. Caliber-specific Charlie front caps, including Charlie flat front caps and the Charlie flash hider front cap, let you maximize suppression for each firearm and caliber you shoot.

Every Omega 36M ships with the Charlie ASR Mount (AC622), the fastest and most universal way to swap between rifle hosts, and compatible with ASR muzzle devices like the ASR flash hider and ASR muzzle brake. The Charlie Direct Thread Mount is the simplest, lightest, and shortest option for rifles and other fixed-barrel firearms. Handguns use the Charlie Piston Mount with a SilencerCo piston, limited to pistol calibers and subsonic .300 BLK. For pistol caliber carbines and .300 BLK subguns with non-moving barrels, the SilencerCo 3-Lug Mount offers quick attachment and also requires the Charlie Piston Mount.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

The Omega 36M gets lumped in with the general multi-caliber category, and that undersells what it actually is. The fully welded Cobalt 6 and Inconel core is built for sustained fire on .308, .300 Win Mag, and .338 Lapua Magnum, yet it still runs 9mm and other pistol calibers well. Most multi-cal cans make that trade in the opposite direction, chasing versatility and accepting compromised performance at the extremes. With the 36M, rifle performance comes first and the pistol capability is a bonus.

If you want one can to cover a lot of calibers, the 36M is an easy recommendation. We like it on everyday rifles and on 9mm PCCs like the MP5 and Sig MPX, and it's also a strong performer on .338 Lapua Magnum and 8.6 Blackout. Around the shop, subsonic 8.6 Blackout with the 36M in its short configuration is a favorite, and so is shooting .38 Special out of a lever gun. On a 10" 5.56 SBR or a pistol caliber subgun, most people will run it short, since the shorter, lighter setup makes a real difference on a compact host. For a precision .308 or .338 build where sound reduction is the priority, leave it long.

Charlie is one of the better-supported mounting interfaces in the industry. The Dead Air KeyMo adapter and the Plan B by Q adapter both come in Charlie-compatible versions, so you aren't locked into SilencerCo's ecosystem if you prefer a different QD system. The included Charlie ASR Mount covers most rifle setups out of the box, while the Charlie Piston Mount and 3-Lug Mount extend the 36M to tilting-barrel pistols and MP5-pattern hosts without adding complexity. For this caliber range in a modular package, the Omega 36M is one of the more versatile cans on the market.
