PWS MK114 MOD 2-M SBR - 14.5" .223 WYLDE LONG STROKE PISTON AR-15, AMBIDEXTROUS

The PWS MK114 MOD 2-M SBR is a 14.5" .223 Wylde short barrel rifle built on the PWS Long Stroke Piston System, with a fully ambidextrous lower receiver made from 7075-T651 forged aluminum. Weighing 6.8 lbs unloaded and optimized for suppressor use, this AR-15 platform SBR is chambered to handle both .223 Remington and 5.56mm NATO.

A 3-setting Adjustable Gas System lets you fine-tune gas flow for different shooting conditions, ammunition types, and suppressor use. The suppressor optimized design minimizes back pressure, reduces gas blowback, and optimizes gas flow for a cleaner, more comfortable shooting experience. The 14.5" barrel uses a 1:8 twist, and PWS rates the MK114 MOD 2-M for sub-MOA accuracy with high-grade ammunition.

The muzzle is threaded 1/2x28 and ships with a PWS FRC Compensator, a suppressor compatible device that helps control recoil and muzzle rise. The FRC works with PWS PUB mounts, the Rearden Atlas Taper Mount, and the Plan B by Q Suppressor Adapter.

The black, hard coat anodized receiver features an ambidextrous lower designed in-house by PWS, with a flared mag well and built-in trigger guard, and the design eliminates the forward assist. A PicLok handguard combining Picatinny and M-LOK mounting, Radian Raptor ambidextrous charging handle, PTFE-coated Mil-Spec Enhanced trigger, PWS Enhanced Buffer System, and Magpul MOE SL stock and MOE K2 pistol grip round out the rifle.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

The MK114 MOD 2-M SBR lands right in the middle of PWS's .223 Wylde lineup, and that's a big part of its appeal. The 14.5" barrel gives you more velocity to work with than the shorter SBRs, while still staying more compact and easier to handle than a 16" rifle. The .223 Wylde chamber runs both .223 and 5.56 without a second thought, so it's a great all-around choice for range days, home defense, and hunting at moderate distances.

PWS has a reputation for reliability, and the long stroke piston is a big reason why. It keeps the rifle cleaner when you're running suppressed, so it keeps performing longer between cleanings, and the 3-setting gas system lets you tune the rifle for a can instead of working around one. Add the fully ambidextrous lower and charging handle, plus the PicLok handguard for Picatinny or M-LOK accessories, and it's packed with useful features without feeling overdone.
