PWS MK116 MOD 2-M RIFLE - 16.1" .223 WYLDE LONG STROKE PISTON AR-15, AMBIDEXTROUS

The PWS MK116 MOD 2-M is a 16.1" .223 Wylde AR-15 rifle built on the PWS Long Stroke Piston System, with a fully ambidextrous lower receiver made from 7075-T651 forged aluminum. Weighing 6.8 lbs unloaded and optimized for suppressor use, it's chambered to handle both .223 Remington and 5.56mm NATO, making it a versatile choice for range, duty, and suppressed shooting.

A 3-setting Adjustable Gas System lets you fine-tune gas flow for different shooting conditions, ammunition types, and suppressor use. The suppressor optimized design minimizes back pressure, reduces gas blowback, and optimizes gas flow for a cleaner, more comfortable shooting experience. The 16.1" barrel uses a 1:8 twist, and PWS rates the MK116 MOD 2-M for sub-MOA accuracy with high-grade ammunition.

The muzzle is threaded 1/2x28 and ships with the PWS FRC 2-Port Compensator, a suppressor compatible device that helps control recoil and muzzle rise. The FRC works with PWS PUB mounts, the Rearden Atlas Taper Mount, and the Plan B by Q Suppressor Adapter.

The black, hard coat anodized receiver features an ambidextrous lower designed in-house by PWS, with a flared mag well and built-in trigger guard, and the design eliminates the forward assist. A PicLok handguard combining Picatinny and M-LOK mounting, Radian Raptor ambidextrous charging handle, PTFE-coated Mil-Spec Enhanced trigger, PWS Enhanced Buffer System, and Magpul MOE SL stock and MOE K2 pistol grip round out the rifle.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

We've found the MK116 MOD 2-M to be extremely reliable, and we often pair PWS uppers with our in-house full-auto lower. It lives up to its reputation as a softer shooter AR-15 thanks to the long-stroke piston, along with less fouling than traditional DI rifles.

If you plan to run a suppressor, the included FRC 2-Port Compensator makes things easy. It works with both the Rearden Atlas Taper Mount and the Plan B by Q Suppressor Adapter, so you can mount a can right off the factory muzzle device. For a suppressor, we'd recommend a lighter 5.56 can as the main option, but thanks to the adjustable gas system, you can easily run most any silencer on it without worrying about excess blowback or overgassing issues.
