Under ATF's October 9 policy, you can buy a suppressor on a 4473 in some states. We still recommend a Form 4: it stays compliant if the policy changes, and ATF approvals come back in days.
CANIK VOID 556 SUPPRESSOR - HUB-COMPATIBLE, INTERCHANGEABLE FRONT CAPS, 5.56 AND 6MM ARC
The Canik Void 556 is a HUB-compatible 5.56 suppressor for AR-15s and other 5.56 rifle platforms, developed with and manufactured by Otter Creek Labs. It's built from heat-treated 17-4 stainless steel around a welded baffle stack and finished in high-temperature Cerakote. The Void 556 measures 6.1" long and 1.625" in diameter, weighs 14.9 oz, and is rated for 5.56x45mm, 6mm ARC, and other similar cartridges.
Two interchangeable front caps come in the box, a solid front cap and a low back pressure front cap. Switching between them lets you tune the can for your preferred balance of sound suppression and reduced gas blowback, whether the host is a precision rifle, a hard-use carbine, or a semi-auto you want running cleaner. Each front cap threads on and off using its wrench flats.
Out of the box, the Void 556 threads directly onto 1/2x28 barrels using the included direct thread adapter, which is designed to seat against a 90-degree shoulder. Barrels with a tapered shoulder need a tapered cap to convert to a 90-degree mounting surface. The rear of the suppressor is HUB (1.375x24) compatible, so you can also run it on any HUB-compatible mount.
If you want a shorter 5.56 option, the Canik Void 556K trims the length to 5.1" and the weight to 12.3 oz. For .30 caliber rifles, the Canik Void 762 rounds out the rifle side of the Void line.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
Honestly, the front caps are our favorite part of the Void 556. Most 5.56 cans make you pick a lane when you buy them. You either get the one that's quieter at the muzzle or the one that's a little louder but easier on your face. With the Void 556, both caps come in the box, and you can swap back and forth whenever the mood strikes.
If you shoot lefty, or you've got an overgassed AR-15 that's been blowing gas in your face every time you run it suppressed, that low back pressure cap is going to make your range days a lot more pleasant. Putting it on a bolt gun instead? Throw the solid cap on and squeeze a little more suppression out of it.
At 6.1" and 14.9 oz, it's a full-size 5.56 can with Otter Creek Labs engineering behind it. We also like that the HUB interface keeps your options open, so you're not married to one mounting system if your setup changes down the road.
