DANIEL DEFENSE MK18 SBR - 10.3" 5.56 AR-15 SHORT BARREL RIFLE
The Daniel Defense MK18 SBR is a 5.56mm NATO AR-15 style short barrel rifle that Daniel Defense describes as unmatched in size, weight, and performance. It's built around a 10.3" cold hammer-forged Government profile barrel, the same length used on the MK18 upper most commonly used for CQB operations, paired with a carbine-length gas system. The MK18 SBR weighs 5.88 lbs and measures 26.75" to 29.875" overall with the muzzle device.
Up front is the Daniel Defense MK18 RIS II, the Picatinny quad rail Daniel Defense provides to USSOCOM. Its Bolt-Up System was rigorously tested by USSOCOM prior to fielding and lets the rail free float the barrel so harmonics aren't affected during operation. Three low profile rail ladders made from Santoprene, heat resistant to 300° F, are included to cover the rail where you don't need accessories.
The independently ambidextrous GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle and ambi safety selector accommodate left- and right-handed shooters, and the enhanced flared magazine well funnels magazines into place for fast reloads. The MK18 SBR comes with the Daniel Defense Buttstock, which features a nonslip cheek weld, interchangeable butt pads, and an integral QD point, along with the Daniel Defense Pistol Grip. At the muzzle, the Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor reduces flash signature compared to a traditional A2 birdcage and threads onto a standard 1/2x28 barrel thread. It's available in Black (02-088-07327), FDE (02-088-17024), and Mil Spec + (02-088-15028-011).

The MK18 SBR is the original Daniel Defense MK18 in short barrel rifle form, built around the same RIS II quad rail Daniel Defense provides to USSOCOM. If you like having Picatinny real estate on all four sides for lights, lasers, and grips, this is the MK18 to get, and the 10.3" barrel keeps it compact and easy to maneuver. It's also a natural suppressor host. Pull the flash suppressor and the 1/2x28 threads will take a mount for any 5.56 can on the market. With Black, FDE, and Mil Spec + to choose from, there's an option for most setups.
