SILENCERCO OSPREY 9 2.0 SUPPRESSOR - POLYGONAL 9MM PISTOL SILENCER

The SilencerCo Osprey 9 2.0 brings the Osprey's signature polygonal profile to a 9mm pistol suppressor that is also rated for subsonic .300 BLK. It measures 7.06" long with a 1.30" x 1.75" cross section, weighs 8.8 oz, and is built from 7075 aluminum and 17-4 stainless steel. The offset shape keeps most of the can below your line of sight, allowing use with standard-height sights on some pistols, while the monocore baffle inside that shape adds internal volume for better sound suppression.

Indexing on the 2.0 is handled by a single push button. Holding it down lets you turn the suppressor until it lines up where you want it against your sights, and letting go locks that position in. Reinstall the Osprey on that same pistol and it lands in the same spot, though switching to another pistol means indexing it again. Shooters who want extra suppression can run it wet by adding about 5cc of clean water or clear wire pulling gel to the back of the can, roughly a water bottle cap's worth, for a temporary improvement. For home defense and tactical use, the Osprey 9 2.0 is a practical fit across a broad range of traditional 9mm handguns.

Every Osprey 9 2.0 mounts through a SilencerCo piston, sold separately, in the thread pitch that matches your barrel. Pistol-caliber hosts with fixed barrels take a SilencerCo Fixed Barrel Spacer (AC22) in place of the spring. There is no direct thread or 3-lug option for the Osprey. If you already run a SilencerCo piston on an Omega K Series, Spectre Series, Octane Series, or Hybrid 46, that same piston works here.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

Few pistol suppressors are as recognizable as the Osprey, and the 9 2.0 keeps that look while fixing what bugged people about the original. Because it rides lower than a round can, some pistols can keep their factory-height sights instead of needing a taller set. Tone has always been an Osprey strong point too, and it sounds pleasant rather than harsh. Where it really belongs is on a traditional Browning-action 9mm, since that's where the piston does its job. It will go on a PCC with the Fixed Barrel Spacer, but normal pistols are where it shines. Most of its weight sits toward the rear, so it feels lighter on the gun than 8.8 oz suggests. One thing to plan for is that it won't take a direct thread or 3-lug mount, so every host needs a piston in the right thread pitch.

The lever system on the original Osprey was its biggest weak spot, and some shooters had it loosen up on them. The 2.0 replaces it with a push button that's faster and simpler to use. Once it's indexed to your pistol, you just thread it on and go.
