SILENCERCO OSPREY 45 2.0 SUPPRESSOR - POLYGONAL PISTOL SILENCER, 9MM TO .45 ACP

The SilencerCo Osprey 45 2.0 is a multi-caliber pistol suppressor rated for 9mm to .45 ACP and subsonic .300 BLK, and it is the only polygonal pistol silencer on the market. Its eccentric polygonal body houses a monocore baffle design, giving it greater internal volume and better sound suppression. Because most of the suppressor sits below the shooter's line of sight, the Osprey 45 2.0 is compatible with standard-height sights on some pistols. It measures 8.06" long and 1.30" x 1.75", weighs 9.2 oz, and is built from 17-4 stainless steel and 7075 aluminum.

The 2.0 version adds a push-button locking system for quick, repeatable indexing. To set it, press the button, rotate the suppressor to the orientation you want relative to your sights, and release. The Osprey returns to that position each time it goes back on the same host, while a different host requires re-indexing. You can shoot it dry or wet, and adding about 5cc of clean water or clear wire pulling gel to the back of the suppressor temporarily improves sound suppression. Sight compatibility and quiet performance make it a strong fit for home defense and tactical handguns, including the 1911, the FNX-45, and a wide range of other traditional pistols.

The Osprey 45 2.0 attaches with a SilencerCo piston (sold separately) matched to your barrel threads. On pistol-caliber firearms with fixed barrels, the piston is used with a SilencerCo Fixed Barrel Spacer (AC22) in place of the spring. It is not compatible with direct thread or 3-lug mounts. SilencerCo pistons are interchangeable with the Omega K Series, Spectre Series, Octane Series, and Hybrid 46, so a piston you already own may carry over.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

The Osprey 45 has been around for years, and it remains one of the better-sounding pistol suppressors available. Beyond the numbers, shooters describe its tone as pleasant rather than harsh. It also has an iconic look, and that polygonal shape does real work by keeping most of the suppressor below your sight line while adding internal volume for sound reduction.

This is a can for traditional Browning-action handguns. You can run it on a PCC with the Fixed Barrel Spacer, but it's really built around normal pistols, where the piston does its job. In our experience, most of the Osprey's weight sits toward the rear, which helps balance once it's mounted. Keep in mind that it doesn't work with direct thread or 3-lug mounts, so plan on a piston for every host.

The 2.0 update fixes the main complaint about the original Osprey, which was the cam lever. The push-button system is simpler and faster. Press, rotate, release, and you're done.
