PWS MK111 MOD 2-M SBR - 11.85" .223 WYLDE LONG STROKE PISTON AR-15, AMBIDEXTROUS

The PWS MK111 MOD 2-M is an 11.85" .223 Wylde short barrel rifle built on the PWS Long Stroke Piston System, with a fully ambidextrous lower receiver made from 7075-T651 forged aluminum. Weighing 6.2 lbs unloaded and optimized for suppressor use, this AR-15 platform SBR is chambered to handle both .223 Remington and 5.56mm NATO.

A 3-setting Adjustable Gas System lets you fine-tune gas flow for different shooting conditions, ammunition types, and suppressor use. The suppressor optimized design minimizes back pressure, reduces gas blowback, and optimizes gas flow for a cleaner, more comfortable shooting experience. The 11.85" barrel uses a 1:8 twist, and PWS rates the MK111 MOD 2-M for sub-MOA accuracy with high-grade ammunition.

The muzzle is threaded 1/2x28 and ships with the PWS FRC 2-Port Compensator, a suppressor compatible device that helps control recoil and muzzle rise. The FRC works with PWS PUB mounts, the Rearden Atlas Taper Mount, and the Plan B by Q Suppressor Adapter.

The black, hard coat anodized receiver features an ambidextrous lower designed in-house by PWS, with a flared mag well and built-in trigger guard, and the design eliminates the forward assist. A PicLok handguard combining Picatinny and M-LOK mounting, Radian Raptor ambidextrous charging handle, PTFE-coated Mil-Spec Enhanced trigger, PWS Enhanced Buffer System, and Magpul MOE SL stock and MOE K2 pistol grip round out the rifle.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

The MK111 MOD 2-M is a well-rounded SBR that handles a lot of jobs without asking you to compromise much. The .223 Wylde chamber runs both .223 and 5.56 without a second thought, and the 11.85" barrel hits a nice middle ground. It's short enough to stay maneuverable, but long enough to keep velocity up if you want to hunt with it or shoot at moderate distances.

Where the MOD 2-M stands out is in how clean and streamlined it is. PWS dropped the forward assist, gave it a fully ambidextrous lower and charging handle, and added the PicLok handguard so you can run Picatinny or M-LOK accessories without adapters. The long stroke piston also keeps the rifle cleaner when you're running suppressed, so it keeps performing longer between cleanings, and the 3-setting gas system lets you tune it for a can instead of working around one.

Getting a suppressor on it is easy, too. The included FRC 2-Port Compensator works with the Rearden Atlas Taper Mount and Plan B by Q Suppressor Adapter, and for a can, we'd look at the Otter Creek Labs Polonium K, HUXWRX FLOW 556 Ti, Exigent Defense FireTeam 556, or SilencerCo Velos LBP 556.
