PWS MK216 MOD 2-M RIFLE - .308 WIN LONG STROKE PISTON AR-10, 16.1" BARREL, SUPPRESSOR OPTIMIZED

The PWS MK216 MOD 2-M is a .308 WIN AR-10 rifle built on the PWS Long Stroke Piston System, pairing a 16.1" 416R stainless barrel with a fully ambidextrous lower receiver made from 7075-T651 forged aluminum. Chambered to run both .308 Win and 7.62x51mm NATO, it weighs 8.8 lbs unloaded and is optimized for suppressor use, making it a strong choice for shooters who want a piston-driven .308 to run with a can.

A 3-setting adjustable gas system lets you tune gas flow for suppressed shooting, different ammunition types, and changing conditions. The system is designed to minimize back pressure and reduce gas blowback, so shooting suppressed stays cleaner and more comfortable. A patent-pending bore evacuator also uses an expansion chamber to bleed excess gas from the muzzle via the Venturi effect.

The muzzle is threaded 5/8x24 and ships with the PWS FRC 3-Port Tapered Compensator, which is made for the MK2's tapered barrel shoulder. The FRC works with PWS PUB mounts, the Rearden Atlas Taper Mount, and the Plan B by Q Suppressor Adapter, giving you several options for mounting a suppressor.

PWS rates the MK216 MOD 2-M for sub-MOA accuracy with high-grade ammunition. A 7-sided MK2 MOD 2-M M-LOK handguard, Radian Raptor ambidextrous charging handle, Magpul MOE SL stock, and PWS Enhanced pistol grip round out the rifle.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

If you're after a 7.62x51mm (.308) AR-10 that's meant to wear a suppressor, the MK216 MOD 2-M checks the right boxes. PWS built the gas system to cut back pressure and blowback, and the 3-setting adjustment lets you dial the rifle in for a can instead of working around it. Pair that with the long stroke piston's reduced fouling and you've got a .308 that's set up for suppressed shooting from the start.

We also like that the lower is fully ambidextrous, which makes this an easy pick for left-handed shooters. For a host can, we'd look at the HUXWRX FLOW 762 Ti, HUXWRX VENTUM 762, SilencerCo Velos LBP 762, or other lower backpressure options for the best experience.
