YHM R45 SUPPRESSOR - FULL-AUTO RATED MULTI-CALIBER SILENCER, .17 HMR TO .45-70 GOVERNMENT

The YHM R45 is a full-auto rated multi-caliber suppressor that YHM calls its most versatile suppressor system to date, rated for calibers from .17 HMR all the way up to .45-70 Government. It's a tubeless, fully welded design made from heat-treated 17-4 PH stainless steel with a black Cerakote finish. The R45 measures 6.4" long (6.7" with the adapter), weighs 12 oz (13.6 oz with the adapter), and has a 1.562" diameter. YHM rates it at 132 dB on .45 ACP.

.17 HMR, 9mm Luger, .45 ACP, 5.56mm NATO, .300 Blackout, 7.62x51 / .308 Winchester, and .45-70 Government are among the cartridges the R45 can handle. That range makes it a strong fit for pistol caliber carbines (PCCs) and subguns, while still covering pistols, centerfire rifles, and big-bore lever guns. YHM lists a 7.5" minimum barrel length for .300 Blackout and 16" for both 5.56mm NATO and 7.62x51 / .308 Winchester.

The R45 uses HUB (1.375x24) mounting threads and ships with a YHM 5/8x24 direct thread mount and two suppressor wrenches. It accepts YHM's full lineup of HUB mounting options, including the YHM Phantom QD adapter, the YHM sRx QD adapter, and the YHM Nielsen Booster Assembly for pistol use. It also works with other HUB-compatible mounts.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

Like its smaller brother, the YHM R9, the R45 is a suppressor we'd reach for first on subguns and pistol caliber carbines. It's far from a one-trick pony, though. YHM calls it their most versatile suppressor system to date, and we'd agree. The same can that runs on a 9mm or .45 ACP PCC can move over to a pistol, a .300 Blackout AR-15 SBR, or even a 45-70 lever-action rifle.

What makes that possible is the build. The R45 is tubeless and fully welded from heat-treated 17-4 PH stainless steel, so it's tough enough for full-auto fire and big-bore cartridges without turning into a heavy can. At 12 ounces bare, it stays manageable even on lighter hosts. If you're planning a short-barreled build, just keep YHM's minimums in mind, since .300 Blackout needs at least a 7.5" barrel and 5.56 and .308 need 16".

We also like how easy it is to set up for different hosts. It ships with a 5/8x24 direct thread mount, and because it's HUB, you can swap to a booster for pistols, a Phantom or sRx QD adapter for carbines and rifles, or most other HUB-compatible mounts on the market. We see the R45 as a PCC-focused suppressor that happens to do a lot of other jobs well, and for anyone who wants one can to cover pistols, PCCs, and the occasional rifle, it's a great value.
