THUNDER BEAST MAGNUS RR SUPPRESSOR

The Thunder Beast Magnus RR is the Reduced Recoil variant of TBAC's full-size Magnus. The RR designation stands for "Reduced Recoil" (also called "Race Ready"). Where the standard Magnus uses a flat endcap, the RR replaces it with an integrated brake at the exit end of the suppressor. On .300 Winchester Magnum, this design reduces recoil by over 60% compared to a bare muzzle. A standard Magnus-CB with a flat endcap reduces recoil by 29% on the same cartridge.

Of all the Magnus RR variants (K-RR, S-RR, and full-size RR), the full-size Magnus RR has the most sound reduction. TBAC positions it as the best RR option for big .30 caliber magnums because it delivers the highest suppression while still achieving the 60%+ recoil reduction. At the TBAC Sound Summit, the Magnus-RR-CB-30 tested as the quietest suppressor in the .300 Win Mag category at 136.1 mil dB average against 61 other suppressors. On .300 WM specifically, measurements showed 137 dB at the muzzle and 135 dB at the shooter's ear. The RR variant is approximately 10 dBA louder at the shooter's ear compared to the standard (non-RR) Magnus. That is the trade-off for the added recoil reduction.

The RR endcap adds 1.5 inches and approximately 2.4 ounces over the standard Magnus, bringing the CB version to 10.5 inches and 17.2 ounces. The all-titanium construction with a 360-degree fully-welded baffle core maintains TBAC's standard for POI (Point of Impact) repeatability. Prone shooters should be aware that the brake ports may create a dust signature, and port orientation matters depending on position.

Three mounting configurations are available for the .30 caliber version. The CB (Compact Brake) uses TBAC's taper mount shared with the Ultra 5, 7, 9, and Dominus-CB. The SR (Secondary Retention) adds a locking ring mechanism and is the only Magnus RR variant rated for full-auto use. The HUB version features a 1.375x24 thread pattern, allowing compatibility with Dead Air Key-Mo, SilencerCo ASR, Q Plan B, Xeno, direct thread, and other third-party mounts. TBAC considers the HUB version intended for advanced users familiar with their chosen mounting system.

For a shorter RR option, the Magnus S-RR at 8.4 inches (CB) provides the highest recoil reduction of the RR lineup by approximately 2%, with suppression between the Ultra 7 (Gen2) and Ultra 9 (Gen2). If recoil reduction is not a priority and you want the absolute quietest Magnus, the standard Magnus is approximately 10 dBA quieter at the ear. CAPITOL ARMORY'S TAKE

The full-size Magnus RR is the can to pick if you want maximum suppression and recoil reduction in the same package. It tested as the quietest .300 WM suppressor at the TBAC Sound Summit, and 60%+ recoil reduction on magnum cartridges makes a real difference for follow-up shots and long sessions. The trade-off is size and weight. At 10.5 inches and 17.2 ounces on the CB, it is a full-size suppressor. If that length is a problem, the S-RR cuts it down to 8.4 inches with marginally better recoil reduction but less sound suppression. Prone shooters should think about the dust signature from the brake ports. The CB version is the simplest and lightest setup. The SR adds full-auto capability and the locking ring, but also adds 0.70 inches and about 2.9 ounces. The HUB is there for shooters already invested in a third-party mount system.
