The SureFire SOCOM556-RC2 is the suppressor selected by U.S. Special Operations Command for M4 and Mk18 carbines after winning the most extensive suppressor trials ever conducted by the military. This second-generation model builds on the original SOCOM design with an improved front plate and enhanced baffles for better durability and performance.
Built from Inconel alloy baffles and stainless steel construction, the RC2 uses SureFire's internal venting system to reduce back pressure. This lowers the suppressed cyclic rate, reduces gas blowback to the shooter, and helps maintain host weapon reliability. The redesigned front plate eliminates first-round flash.
The SOCOM556-RC2 mounts using SureFire's Fast-Attach system, compatible with SureFire flash hiders, muzzle brakes, and WARCOMPs. Every suppressor is test-fired at the factory to verify sub-MOA point-of-impact shift and group size.

NOTE: This suppressor requires a SureFire muzzle device for mounting. The SOCOM 3-Prong Flash Hider provides the best suppression performance based on independent testing. The WARCOMP offers flash-hiding capability when shooting unsuppressed, but produces slightly higher sound levels when the suppressor is attached.

MILITARY-PROVEN SUPPRESSION
The SOCOM556-RC2 Fast-Attach suppressor is SureFire's latest full-sized 5.56 suppressor. This 2nd-Gen model features a new front plate and baffle enhancements from the original SOCOM design, making them even more robust and better performing. Constructed from Inconel and Stainless Steel, the SOCOM556-RC2 features a more advanced internal venting system to reduce back pressure, reducing the suppressed cyclic rate and gas blowback on the operator. The redesigned front plate eliminates first-round flash.
This second-generation SOCOM556-RC2 securely mounts to previous-generation SureFire muzzle brakes or flash hiders and produces a minimal, consistent shift in point of impact.

The SureFire SOCOM556-RC2 should need no introduction. Used heavily by law enforcement and military members, the RC2 has earned high recommendations when looking for a battle-proven suppressor. Like other SureFire cans, it is designed to reduce flash and have extremely low backpressure. This translates into a weapon cycling more smoothly, with less blowback and less wear on the parts. It also enhances reliability, as it's not accelerating the system as much as many other suppressors. While SureFire does not make the quietest suppressors, they excel in other areas. They are designed to be hearing-safe but meet some different needs of our warfighters. Flash reduction is a massive part of this, and they shine when shooting under NODS. For those looking for 5.56 suppression with real-world combat testing, the SOCOM556-RC2 is worth strong consideration.
