The SureFire SOCOM556-MINI2 delivers near-RC2 performance in a 5 inch package, coming in 1.2 inches shorter and 2.5 ounces lighter than the full-size SOCOM556-RC2. This suppressor prioritizes minimal weapon length while maintaining flash suppression and low backpressure, with Inconel baffles, a stainless steel outer tube, and CNC laser-welded construction for full-auto durability. The Fast-Attach mounting system allows tool-free installation on any SOCOM-compatible muzzle device.

SureFire optimized the MINI2 for 14.5 inch and longer barrels, with a minimum barrel length of 10.5 inches. For barrels shorter than 10.5 inches, use the SureFire SOCOM556-SB2 instead. First-round flash is eliminated through SureFire's patent-pending front-plate design and gas-flow dynamics, and advanced internal venting reduces backpressure, cyclic rate, and gas blowback compared to suppressors without vented baffles. An integrated blast shield in the rear section increases durability under sustained fire, and the indexing tab sits in a low carbon-buildup area for easier removal after extended firing.

The SOCOM556-MINI2 exists for shooters who need a suppressed rifle without adding length. At 5 inches, it is one of the shortest 5.56 suppressors available. The tradeoff is sound reduction. The full-size RC2 is quieter at the muzzle, but if you need to keep your rifle short and still want flash suppression plus reduced backpressure, the MINI2 delivers. For optimal performance, pair the MINI2 with a 14.5 inch or longer barrel. On shorter barrels down to 10.5 inches, it will work but with reduced sound suppression. The SOCOM 3-Prong Flash Hider mount provides better signature reduction at the shooter's ear compared to the WARCOMP mount, so it is worth factoring that into your muzzle device choice.
