Under ATF's October 9 policy, you can buy a suppressor on a 4473 in some states. We still recommend a Form 4: it stays compliant if the policy changes, and ATF approvals come back in days.
SOF 6RX SUPPRESSOR - 6MM INCONEL SILENCER FOR RECCE AND PRECISION RIFLES, QD 1X16LH MOUNT
The SOF 6RX is a 6mm suppressor for recce and precision rifles, built from Inconel (IN718) using 3D metallurgical additive manufacturing. It measures 6.86" long and 1.75" in diameter, weighs 21.9 oz, and has a black NANO G coating with a QD 1x16LH mount. The 6RX is part of the SOF suppressor lineup and is the company's dedicated 6mm can.
Unlike SOF's HUB models, the 6RX comes with its own mounting hardware. It ships with SOF's AI Nano muzzle device, which threads onto 5/8x24 barrels and provides the QD 1x16LH interface the suppressor locks onto. SOF requires a minimum barrel length of 13" and rates the 6RX to a maximum velocity of 2,850 fps with a semi-auto rate of fire. For durability, SOF rates it to three 30-round magazines at a 1 second cadence before it reaches its heat threshold, and it lists a cleaning interval of 3,000 rounds.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
SOF built the 6RX for recce and precision rifles in 6mm, and that's where we'd put it. The 13" minimum barrel length keeps it off the shortest hosts, but it leaves plenty of room for a 6mm rifle with a 13" or longer barrel, whether that's a compact recce-style build or a longer precision gun. It's made from Inconel (IN718), and SOF rates it for three full 30-round magazines at a steady 1 second cadence before it hits its heat threshold.
What sets the 6RX apart from the rest of SOF's lineup is what comes in the box. It ships with the AI Nano muzzle device, so you aren't shopping for a separate mount before your first range trip. Just keep in mind that SOF lists it as a semi-auto can, so plan your host around that.
