SOF 556 SUPPRESSOR - FULL-AUTO RATED, INCONEL, HUB MOUNT
The SOF 556 is a full-auto rated 5.56mm suppressor built from Inconel (IN718) using 3D metallurgical additive manufacturing. It measures 5.30" long and 1.63" in diameter, weighs 15.4 oz, and carries a black NANO G coating over a HUB (1.375x24) rear interface. The 556 is a high forward-pressure design for demanding operational environments. Its high flow rate channels gas forward, reducing lateral and rearward blast so sustained fire is easier on the shooter.
There are no barrel length restrictions on the 556, and it is rated to a maximum velocity of 3,300 fps. SOF recommends its Inconel (IN718) suppressors for 5.56mm barrels 10.3" and shorter, for high rate or sustained firing schedules, and for duty, combat, and hard use environments. That puts this can squarely in short-barreled rifle and select-fire territory. SOF calls for inspection and cleaning every 3,000 rounds, or sooner depending on ammunition, firing schedule, and operating environment.
The 556 ships without a mount or muzzle device, so you choose the attachment that fits your host. It works with most Plan B style devices that use a 1.375x24 hub, including the Plan B by Q Suppressor Adapter, the Dead Air KeyMo Adapter, the SilencerCo Bravo Direct Thread Mount, and the SilencerCo Bravo ASR Mount (AC824). The SOF 556 is built for hard use. It's a tactical can meant for short-barreled rifles and select-fire weapons, designed to keep working in the harshest conditions. It's full-auto rated, it's made from Inconel (IN718), and SOF recommends its Inconel (IN718) suppressors for barrels 10.3" and shorter and for sustained fire.
With no barrel length restrictions, you can run the 556 on anything from a short SBR to a longer 5.56mm rifle without worrying about a minimum. Keep in mind that it doesn't come with a mount, so plan on adding a HUB mount or adapter that matches your muzzle setup.
