Under ATF's October 9 policy, you can buy a suppressor on a 4473 in some states. We still recommend a Form 4: it stays compliant if the policy changes, and ATF approvals come back in days.
RIDGEBACK DEFENSE RHODIE 6K SUPPRESSOR - COMPACT INCONEL 5.56 / 6MM SILENCER, FULL-AUTO RATED
The Ridgeback Defense RHODIE 6K is an ultra-compact, full-auto rated 5.56 NATO and 6mm suppressor built from 3D-printed Inconel for SBRs, duty rifles, and hard-use carbines. It measures just 4.5" long, one inch shorter than the full-size RHODIE 6, with a 1.75" diameter and a weight of 12.5 oz, finished in Cerakote. Ridgeback Defense rates it at 136 to 138 dB on a 5-shot average from a SOLGW MK1, with very low back pressure and a deep, smooth tone.
The 6K is built around the same advanced gas management system as the RHODIE 6 and matches the durability standards of the full-size Rhodie platform. It is full-auto rated for 6 magazines in 1 minute, designed for barrels 10.3" and longer, and built to thrive in high-volume firing schedules, whether that means a 5.56 SBR or a high-velocity 6mm carbine. Flash signature is minimal as well.
A HUB (1.375x24) rear interface lets the RHODIE 6K pair with whichever HUB-compatible mount you prefer, and the suppressor ships without one. Muzzle devices should have a maximum depth of 1.2", measured as device depth rather than total length.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
Compact suppressors have a reputation for giving up sound performance or back pressure to get small, and the RHODIE 6K was built to break that tradeoff. At 136 to 138 dB on a 5-shot average from a SOLGW MK1, it performs really well for a 4.5" can. Thanks to its very low back pressure, it isn't getting there at the expense of your action or your face, either.
Next to the full-size RHODIE 6, the 6K is an inch shorter but slightly louder, so picking between them comes down to whether length or sound matters more on your build. You still get the same Rhodie approach to gas management, which means cleaner cycling, less fouling, and a more comfortable day behind the rifle. The 6mm compatibility is a nice bonus for anyone running a 6mm build alongside their 5.56, and a full-auto rating of 6 mags in a minute in Inconel is more than enough for even the most aggressive schedules of fire.
If you want a low back pressure can without adding unnecessary length or weight to the end of your rifle, the RHODIE 6K is a great fit. If you'd rather trade an inch for a quieter can, take a look at the Ridgeback Defense RHODIE 6, and if you need something built purely to take abuse, the Ridgeback Defense RHINO X is worth a look.
