RIDGEBACK DEFENSE RHINO X SUPPRESSOR - FULL-AUTO RATED, HUB-COMPATIBLE MOUNT, MADE FOR 5.56 NATO
The Ridgeback Defense RHINO X is a full-auto rated 5.56 NATO K-can built from 3D-printed Inconel for extreme-duty use on AR-15s and other 5.56 rifles. It measures 5" long with a 1.625" diameter, weighs 12.5 oz, and is finished in Black Cerakote. Ridgeback Defense rates the RHINO X at 136 dB with a deep tone and describes its flash signature as minimal and best in class, all with low back pressure.
The RHINO X is Ridgeback's most rugged suppressor, built to thrive under high heat and high rates of fire. It is full-auto rated for 6 magazines in under a minute and requires a barrel of at least 10.3", with 10.3" to 16" barrels as its best fit.
The RHINO X uses a HUB (1.375x24) rear interface and ships without a mount, which helps keep costs down. Its preferred mounting options are direct thread or Plan B, and other HUB-compatible mounts will work as well. Muzzle devices should be no deeper than 1.7", since longer devices may hurt performance.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
The K-can category is crowded, and most of the serious options end up loud, expensive, or built from materials that start to wear under sustained fire. The RHINO X sidesteps all three. Inconel is the same material you'll find in jet engine components and in high-end suppressors that cost a lot more.
We think 136 dB is fantastic for a 5" can, and the tone is noticeably deeper and more pleasant than the sharp crack you get from most small suppressors. Low back pressure keeps you comfortable and the rifle cycling cleanly during rapid fire.
If you're building a short-barreled 5.56 host and want a suppressor that can run as hard as the rifle does, the RHINO X deserves serious consideration. Shooters who also run 6mm hosts should take a look at the Ridgeback Defense RHODIE 6, and if you want something even more compact, the Ridgeback Defense RHODIE 6K brings the length down to 4.5".
