The Q Short Chop is a shorter version of the ultra-quiet Porq Chop. The Chops have been designed for 8.6 Blackout, a cartridge Q's worked on for quite some time. Subsonic loadings have a speed limit, and the punishment for speeding is a loud shot. To stay quiet and remain lethal, 8.6 makes up for velocity with mass. This puts more energy on target than other subsonic rounds.
If 5.56 has 300 Blackout, then .308 has 8.6 Blackout. It's a necked-up .308 case housing a .338 caliber projectile. This bigger, heavier projectile delivers far more energy on those pesky wild hogs. Night-hunting hogs has never been better.
The Short Chop deviates from Q's regular line-up because it's not titanium. Stainless steel ensures durability even under the harshest punishment from 8.6 shooters. Stainless steel is heavier than titanium, but Q has made the Short Chop lighter due to science and magic than most titanium silencers on the market. How did they do this? Don't ask because if the magic is revealed, it won't work anymore.
