The Strake9 from LayerX Suppression is built from DFARS Grade 5 titanium using Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) and finished with LayerX's Alphatek low-IR coating for heat resistance and durability at just 8.5 ounces. Its compact 6.5-inch profile handles well on MP5s, AR9s, and other 9mm platforms, and the proprietary Strand DNA internal geometry delivers low back pressure, reduced first-round pop, and a clean tone across subsonic 9mm, supersonic loads, and subsonic 300 Blackout. The universal HUB (1.375x24) mounting pattern works with your preferred QD or direct-thread system. It can also accommodate a booster assembly for use on handguns. Full-auto rated on 9mm at any barrel length and subsonic 300 Blackout from 7 inches and up. Each Strake9 ships test-fired to confirm concentricity. 

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

The 9mm suppressor market is crowded, but most cans in this category are built for handguns first and PCCs second. The Strake9 flips that priority. At 6.5 inches and 8.5 ounces, it is sized and weighted for MP5s, AR9s, and similar platforms where balance matters, and the Strand DNA geometry is tuned for the back pressure characteristics of blowback and roller-delayed hosts. The DFARS Grade 5 titanium construction and DMLS manufacturing put the Strake9 in a different category than most welded or machined 9mm cans at this price point. DMLS allows internal geometries that are not achievable through conventional manufacturing, and the Strand DNA internals take advantage of that. The Alphatek low-IR coating adds heat management and durability without the weight penalty of steel. The HUB interface keeps your mounting options open. A 3-lug mount is the natural pairing for an MP5 host, and the booster assembly compatibility means the same suppressor transitions to a handgun without issue. No mount is included, so factor that into your total cost, but the flexibility the HUB pattern provides more than offsets the additional purchase.
