DANIEL DEFENSE GL/SSC SBR - 12.5" 5.56 AR-15 SBR, RIS II RAIL, M203 HANGER SYSTEM
The Daniel Defense GL/SSC SBR is a 5.56mm NATO AR15 style short barrel rifle that Daniel Defense is offering to the general public for the first time. According to Daniel Defense, the original GL/SSC was so hard to come by that only 25 ever reached civilian hands. This version is built around a 12.5" cold hammer forged Government profile barrel on a carbine-length gas system, weighs 6.2 lbs, and measures 29" to 32.25" overall.
The GL/SSC SBR's defining feature is its free-floating GL/SSC RIS II rail. An integrated hanger system builds all M203 grenade launcher mounting components directly into the rail, with no additional parts or special tools required, and that same hanger system provides suppressor compatibility. The rail also gives you plenty of room for accessories without affecting barrel harmonics.
The chrome moly vanadium steel barrel is chrome lined and mil-spec heavy phosphate coated with a 1:7 twist, and it's threaded 1/2x28 under a DD A2 Flash Hider. For more options, browse our full selection of Daniel Defense SBRs.

The GL/SSC SBR is a rare chance to own a configuration that was nearly impossible to get for years. If you've been chasing the GL/SSC setup, this is the genuine article, built by Daniel Defense with the RIS II rail and integrated hanger system just as they were designed.
Beyond the history, it's a practical 12.5" SBR. The 1/2x28 threads and hanger system make it easy to set up with any of the short 5.56 cans in the Compatibility section below, and the RIS II leaves plenty of room for lights, lasers, and grips.
