DANIEL DEFENSE DD5 SBR - 12.5" 7.62X51MM / .308 AR-10 SHORT BARREL RIFLE, ADJUSTABLE GAS BLOCK

The Daniel Defense DD5 SBR (model 02-088-06071-047) is a 7.62x51mm / .308 Winchester AR-10 style short barrel rifle that offers the benefits of its full size rifles in a smaller package. It's built around a 12.5" cold hammer forged S2W barrel with a mid-length gas system, weighs 8.2 lbs, and measures 30.38" to 33.63" overall with the muzzle device. It accepts SR-25 magazines and ships with a Magpul PMAG 20-round magazine.

Two features drive this rifle's design. A user-adjustable gas block gives it a consistent feel whether you're shooting suppressed or unsuppressed, and Daniel Defense's 4-Bolt Connection System attaches the barrel to the upper receiver without a barrel nut. That connection dramatically increases the surface area between barrel and receiver for greater rigidity and stability, which Daniel Defense says brings accuracy usually associated with high-end bolt action rifles.

The superfinished, DLC-coated bolt carrier group is equipped with a buffer for optimized cycling and improved recoil impulse, and the bolt uses enhanced extractor geometry with dual ejectors. Up front, the Daniel Defense Linear Compensator directs muzzle blast forward, away from the shooter, on a 5/8x24 threaded barrel. The free-floating DD5 Rail 10.5 provides M-LOK attachment points and comes with a Daniel Defense M-LOK Handstop, while fully ambidextrous controls and an independently ambidextrous GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle accommodate left- and right-handed shooters.

If you want .308 power in something that handles closer to a carbine, the DD5 SBR is worth a serious look. The 12.5" barrel keeps it compact, and the adjustable gas block lets you tune it to run consistently with or without a can, which makes it a strong match for any of the recommended .30 cal suppressors in the Compatibility section below.

The 4-Bolt Connection System and fully ambidextrous controls carry over from Daniel Defense's full size DD5 rifles, so you're not giving up features by going shorter.
