CAT DIRTY DAVE (DD) 7.62 SUPPRESSOR - COMPACT CQB RIFLE SILENCER, INCONEL OR TITANIUM, HUB AND QD MOUNT OPTIONS
The CAT Dirty Dave is a compact 7.62x51 suppressor built for CQB, low-visibility operations, and shooters who want full-size performance in a roughly 6-inch package. Available in Inconel 718 or titanium construction with your choice of HUB/Bravo or M1x16LH QD mounting, the DD weighs in at 16.1 ounces and carries a DLC finish throughout. CAT engineered the Dirty Dave around five performance priorities. Sound, flash, flow, blast, and durability. Their Surge Bypass technology manages gas flow in a suppressor shorter than most of the competition. Rated for 13-inch barrels on 7.62x51, the DD is purpose-built for the shorter host configurations where compact suppressors live or die. If you are looking for a 7.62 can that holds its own in tight spaces without giving up the HUB mounting ecosystem, the Dirty Dave is built for exactly that role.
One important note on the QD mounting versions: due to blast baffle depth, CAT recommends using only compact muzzle devices with QD mounting solutions. Some full-size muzzle devices may not be compatible. Verify your muzzle device before configuring a setup.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
The compact 7.62 suppressor category has gotten crowded, but most short cans are just trimmed-down versions of full-size designs that were never meant to be short. The Dirty Dave was designed from the start to be a 6-inch suppressor, not a full-size can with sections removed. CAT's Surge Bypass technology manages the gas dynamics that make compact suppressors loud, gassy, and punishing to shoot, which are problems that show up fast on a short 7.62 can running M80 ball. Inconel 718 is one of the most heat-resistant alloys used in suppressor construction. It handles sustained fire and high-round-count strings better than most alternatives at this size class. The titanium version trades some of that thermal headroom for a lighter overall package, which makes sense if you are running the DD on a lightweight precision or hunting build rather than a dedicated hard-use CQB host. Both versions carry the DLC finish and the same HUB or QD mounting options. At roughly 6 inches and 16.1 ounces, the Dirty Dave hits a size and weight target that very few 7.62 suppressors can match while still running the HUB pattern.
