The CAT AKB is a .30 caliber rifle suppressor built around the SBX internal architecture, available in three configurations: Inconel HUB, Titanium HUB, and Inconel QD. The Inconel HUB model weighs 17.5 ounces with a 6.04-inch overall length and 1.375x24 HUB pattern mount. The Titanium HUB model trims that down to 9.1 ounces at the same 6.04-inch length with the same HUB mount. The Inconel QD model weighs 18.8 ounces at 6.4 inches overall and uses a 1x16LH QD mount. All three are rated for 7.62 NATO through .300 Win Mag, share a 1.60-inch diameter, and are optimized for a velocity window of 2,500 to 2,800 ft/s with the 16-inch SR-25 as the primary reference host. Minimum barrel lengths vary by material: Inconel handles 7.62 down to 13 inches and .300 Blackout down to 5.5 inches, while the Titanium model requires 16 inches for 7.62 and 8 inches for .300 Blackout. The AKB is engineered for consistent, repeatable performance across DI, piston, bolt action, and modern gas gun platforms without platform-specific trade-offs.

The AKB gives you a choice between two distinct use-case priorities. The Inconel models are purpose-built for sustained gas loads and short-barrel abuse. Inconel's thermal and corrosion resistance means the AKB holds up where lighter materials would accelerate wear over time, and the lower minimum barrel lengths make it the right pick for SBRs and high-volume hosts. If weight is your priority and your hosts are full-length or near-full-length barrels, the Titanium HUB model cuts over eight ounces without changing the external geometry or the SBX architecture underneath. The SBX internal design is the backbone of all three variants. Controlled, predictable back pressure is the goal across the board, which matters whether you are running a bolt gun or a short-barrel DI rifle. The HUB models drop onto any 1.375x24-compatible adapter, giving you access to QD solutions from Dead Air, SilencerCo, Griffin Armament, YHM, and others without locking you into a proprietary ecosystem. The Inconel QD model takes that a step further with a direct 1x16LH QD interface for anyone already running a compatible mount on their host.
