9MM AND MORE
YHM looks at the larger picture when designing silencers. Their goal is to allow the shooter to enjoy versatility across a huge variety of firearms without breaking the bank. At the same time, they focus on durability and making sure the silencer lasts a lifetime. The YHM R9 was no different. While primarily a 9mm subgun/PCC silencer, it was made to do much more.
It's tubeless design allows for maxim volume, meaning a quieter suppressor with the same footprint. High volumes of 9mm fire are no problem at all for the R9, as being built tough was a focus. This allows it for use on rifle calibers as well, such as 300 Blackout or even .308.
When used in conjunction with a Nielsen Booster Assembly, it can also be shot on traditional 9mm pistols.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
The Yankee Hill Machine R9 is really best suited for submachine guns and pistol caliber carbines. It's right at home on something like a CZ Scorpion, MP5, MPX, or APC9. When used it conjunction with a booster housing and piston, the YHM R9 can also be used to suppress traditional Browning-style handguns. Moving past the round it's designed for, YHM also built the R9 to be able to handle most common rifle calibers. While it really can't be used on SBR's, out of full-length firearms the R9 can withstand suppressing .308, 5.56, 6.5 Grendel, 300 Blackout, and even 350 Legend. While it's ideal for 9mm PCC use, should the shooter want even more versatility the R9 is worth consideration.
