YANKEE HILL MACHINE PHANTOM 22 SUPPRESSOR - LIGHTWEIGHT RIMFIRE SILENCER, .22LR THROUGH 5.7X28

The YHM Phantom 22 is a user-serviceable rimfire suppressor weighing just 4 ounces, rated for calibers up to 5.7x28, and built around a two-piece tube design that puts stainless steel where it counts most. Each baffle features indexing tabs for foolproof reassembly, and an integrated maintenance tool is built directly into the rear of the suppressor so you're never without what you need to clean it. At this weight and price point, the Phantom 22 punches above its class on both rifles and pistols.

Part Number - YHM-4380.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

The rimfire suppressor market has no shortage of options, but most of them either cut corners on materials to hit a price target or add weight trying to do too much. The Phantom 22 avoids both traps. The two-piece tube construction is a smart decision. It gives you stainless steel durability in the blast chamber, where carbon and heat buildup are most aggressive, and weight savings through the rest of the body. Four ounces total is light for a .22 can, and it shows on a pistol host where balance matters. The indexing tabs on the baffles are a small detail that makes a big difference. Anyone who has cleaned a rimfire suppressor knows the mild frustration of reassembling baffles and wondering if you got the orientation right. YHM solves that with a physical alignment feature rather than asking you to eyeball it. The integrated cleaning tool in the rear cap is the same kind of practical thinking. The 5.7x28 rating gives the Phantom 22 more range than a standard .22LR-only can, which is worth noting if you're running an FN Five-seveN or PS90 host. A SilencerCo FN 5.7 adapter or CMMG FNH PS90 thread adapter handles the thread pitch conversion. For most shooters though, this is a dedicated .22LR can for a 10/22, a Mark IV, or other threaded .22 pistol. In that role, it performs well above what the price tag suggests.

What calibers can the YHM Phantom 22 suppress?

The Phantom 22 is rated for rimfire calibers up to 5.7x28, which covers .22LR, .22WMR, and 5.7x28. For most shooters this is a dedicated .22LR can, and that's where it shines. It's ideal on a Ruger 10/22, a Ruger Mark IV, a threaded .22 pistol, or similar rimfire hosts. The 5.7x28 rating is a bonus if you're running an FN Five-seveN or PS90, though you'll need a thread adapter to make that connection. For easier cleaning, stick to high-velocity or subsonic jacketed or copper-plated .22LR.

What is the thread pitch on the YHM Phantom 22, and what hosts does it fit?

The Phantom 22 uses a 1/2x28 thread pitch, which is the standard for the vast majority of threaded rimfire barrels. Most modern threaded .22LR rifles and pistols, including the Ruger 10/22, Ruger Mark IV, Smith & Wesson M&P 22, and Browning Buck Mark, are already cut to 1/2x28 and will accept the Phantom 22 directly with no additional hardware. For hosts with non-standard threading, YHM and SilencerCo both offer compatible thread adapters. The Walther P22 / S&W M&P22 Adapter, Sig Mosquito Thread Adapter, and Sig Sauer & GSG 1911 .22LR Adapter are all compatible options. For 5.7x28 hosts, the SilencerCo FN 5.7 Adapter and CMMG FNH PS90 Thread Adapter handle the thread pitch conversion.

Is the YHM Phantom 22 user serviceable?

Yes, and this is one of the stronger selling points of the Phantom 22. Rimfire suppressors need regular cleaning. .22LR is a dirty cartridge and lead fouling accumulates in the baffles faster than centerfire carbon does. The Phantom 22 is designed to be fully disassembled and cleaned at home. The stainless steel baffles unthread from the two-piece tube, and each baffle features indexing tabs that physically lock them into the correct orientation during reassembly. That matters more than it sounds. Anyone who has cleaned a rimfire suppressor knows the uncertainty of wondering whether the baffles went back together correctly. The indexing tabs eliminate that entirely. The integrated cleaning tool built into the rear cap means you don't need to track down a separate tool. It's there every time, whether you're at the bench or at the range.

How much does the YHM Phantom 22 weigh and how long is it?

The Phantom 22 weighs 4 ounces, which puts it among the lightest rimfire suppressors on the market. Weight matters more on a rimfire pistol than it does on a rifle. A heavy can on a .22 pistol noticeably shifts the balance. At 4 ounces, the Phantom 22 keeps muzzle-heavy balance concerns to a minimum on pistol hosts. On a rifle platform like a 10/22 or Ruger Precision Rimfire, it's light enough that you'll barely notice it. YHM achieves this through the two-piece tube design, which uses a lighter material for the outer tube body while keeping stainless steel where heat and blast pressure are highest.

Is the YHM Phantom 22 rated for full-auto fire?

Yes. The Phantom 22 is rated for semi-automatic and full-auto fire. .22LR generates relatively low pressure compared to centerfire cartridges, but full-auto rimfire still produces rapid heat buildup that some aluminum or lightweight rimfire cans aren't designed to handle continuously. The Phantom 22 will hold up without a problem under aggressive rates of fire. If you're planning to run a registered full-auto rimfire host, the Phantom 22 will do the job.
