YHM VICTRA-12 SUPPRESSOR - MODULAR 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN SILENCER, FULL-AUTO RATED, UP TO 3.5" SHELLS

The YHM Victra-12 is a modular 12 gauge shotgun suppressor built from the ground up for hunters, sport shooters, and home defense. It's user-configurable from its full 12" length down to 10", 8", and 6" versions. In the full 12" configuration, it measures 12.4" overall, weighs 24 oz, and reduces most commercial shotgun loads to 135 dB at the shooter's ear, according to YHM. The 6" configuration measures 6.4" overall, weighs 13.5 oz, and averages 141 dB at the ear. Built from 7075 aluminum and 17-4 PH stainless steel with a hard anodize and Melonite finish, the Victra-12 handles shells up to 3.5" and is full-auto rated.

The Victra-12 attaches to your shotgun's factory choke threads using a host-specific Victra-12 mount assembly, sold separately, with options for popular shotguns from Remington, Mossberg, Browning, Winchester, Benelli, and Beretta. The mounts don't choke the shot. That happens at the muzzle of the suppressor, which ships with an Improved Cylinder choke, and additional Victra-12 chokes are available. To shorten the suppressor, add Victra-12 assembly rods for the length you want. Assembly and disassembly require a 5/32" Allen wrench, which isn't included.

YHM designed the Victra-12 for wadded or slug 12 gauge ammunition and recommends shotshells with a cup-style wad. Only factory-loaded ammunition should be used. High-density shot such as Hevi-Shot, Federal TSS, or similar tungsten or bismuth loads, as well as slugs, should not be used with a full or turkey choke. Maximum shell length depends on barrel length, from 2 3/4" shells on a 7.5" barrel up to 3.5" shells on a 16" barrel.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

The Victra-12 covers a lot of ground for us, from home defense to hunting to just having fun at the range. Bird hunting is where it really shines. You get to save your hearing in the field, and you won't be sweating under earmuffs or fighting with plugs on those hot opening days of dove season. It makes it a whole lot easier to stay aware of your surroundings and keep talking with your buddies during the hunt.

The modularity is a big win. Run it at the full 12" when you want the most sound reduction, or shorten it down to 6" for a handier setup on a home defense gun. YHM backs it with a wide range of accessories too, from rod kits to chokes to mounts for most popular shotguns, so you can set it up exactly the way you want.

We also like that it uses your shotgun's existing choke threads and puts the choke at the end of the suppressor, so you can still swap chokes to tune your pattern. Add in the full-auto rating and the felt recoil reduction YHM mentions, and the Victra-12 is an affordable option compared to a lot of the other 12 gauge silencers on the market.
