SHORT, HARD USE, PRECISION
Thunder Beast's Dominus K SR is a shorter and more compact version of the high-performance hard-use original Dominus SR. It's designed for 5.56 and 7.62 and is right at home on small select fire weapons where size matters. The Dominus K is only slightly longer than the Ultra 5, while remaining as light. It's design allows for more aggressive use, as well as a more robust mounting system than the CB series.
The compact, 5.54" Dominus K SR meters slighter louder than it's bigger brother at the muzzle, however it's the same at the shooter's ear. There's minimal difference to the shooter on an untuned semi-automatic rifle between the two. It's also hearing safe at the shooter's ear on a 20" .308 bolt action rifle.
The "SR" in Dominus SR stands for Secondary Retention. A quick-attach/detach mount provides both a taper surface for precision rifles, and a secondary retention to ensure the suppressor does not back off under hard use. The Dominus SR is rated for a "Hard-Use/Full-Auto" firing schedule. Thunder Beast specifies this as surviving at least 10 cycles of the SOCOM/SURG firing schedule.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
The Dominus K SR from Thunder Beast is a more compact of their Dominus SR. The Dominus series brings a great mix between a durable can with a light weight one. The SR mount allows for a stronger secondary retention system for those who intend to be rough on the silencer. The K (Kurz) version was designed for use on 5.56 semi or full auto rifles, as well as 7.62 battle rifles where a shorter overall length is more important than absolute decibel reduction. For those who love the Dominus but wanted something shorter, Thunder Beast has answered those requests.
