DURABLE, SIMPLISTIC SUPPRESSION
The Sig Sauer SRD556 is manfactured from Inconel 718. This nickel alloy stainless steel provides extreme levels of durability, withstanding the abusive conditions when mounted on short-barreled rifles. The SRD556 is a direct thread silencer wit h1/2x28 threads for fitment on the vast majority of modern .223 and 5.56 rifles on the market. For additional security, wrench mounts are on the wear mount, allowing the shooter to secure the suppressor with additional torque. This also provides a surface for pinning and welding the suppressor the the barrel.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
The SRD556 from Sig Sauer offers important suppression solutions without unnecessary bells and whistles. It has fantastic decibel reduction while remaining light weight. Since it's direct thread, no additional accessories need to be purchased in order to mount it to most all .223/5.56 rifles on the market today. The wrench flats allow for extra torque when mounting the suppressor. This reduces the risk of the suppressor backing off, which is one fear many have with direct thread silencers. Additionally, the wrench flats can be used to pin and weld the SRD556. This can allow for a suppressed rifle in a compact size, without the need of an additional SBR stamp.
