Q FIX SBR IN 8.6 BLACKOUT, 12" BARRELL
The Q Fix SBR is a ground-up reinvention of the bolt-action rifle, It's lighter, faster-cycling, more compact, and purpose-built for the 8.6 Blackout cartridge and a suppressor. At 5.4 lbs with a folding stock and a 12" stainless barrel, it goes places most bolt guns simply can't. The 8.6 Blackout cartridge was designed for suppressed, subsonic performance in a compact bolt-action platform, and no rifle is more optimized for it than The Fix. The 12" barrel keeps overall length tight while the M18x1.5-threaded muzzle is ready for Q's Porq Chop or Short Chop suppressors straight from the factory.
Q redesigned bolt-action fundamentals at every level. The 45-degree short-throw bolt handle cuts cycling time dramatically compared to the 90-degree standard found on Mauser and Remington 700 pattern actions, the bolt shroud rides on internal rails similar to a pistol slide for smooth and consistent follow-up shots, and the 2-stage match trigger delivers a crisp, predictable break without the vague take-up of standard factory triggers. The folding stock uses a wedge-lock hinge with no buttons, springs, or latches, delivering zero wobble when extended with length of pull and cheek comb height adjustable via T-25 Torx. Controls mirror the AR-15: same safety selector position, same magazine release, standard pistol grip, and a full-length M1913 Picatinny top rail ready for optics without adapters.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
There are bolt-action rifles built to look interesting on paper, and there are bolt-action rifles built to actually be used. The Fix is the latter. The 45-degree bolt throw changes how fast you can run a bolt gun. Pair that with a trigger that doesn't require a break-in period and a folding stock that locks up tighter than most fixed stocks, and you have a package that holds up in the field without compromise. In 8.6 Blackout, the platform reaches its full potential. You're getting subsonic performance that .300 Blackout simply can't match at distance, in a rifle that weighs 5.4 pounds and folds for transport. Add a Porq Chop or Short Chop and you have one of the most capable suppressed bolt-action setups available at any price.

A LITTLE 8.6 FIX
The Fix by Q redesigns the tired, outdated bolt-action rifle with a few modern improvements. It's light, accurate, customizable, ergonomic, and, most importantly, ready for a silencer and some subsonic ammunition. The action of The Fix is more elegant due to the 45-degree short-throw bolt handle. This makes cycling rounds a bit faster and a lot more sexy.
The ergonimics are much more pleasant than some of the bolt guns of yesteryear. A standard M4 grip allows for customization options, and the controls feel right at home to anyone who has used an AR-15 before. The safety and magazine release are right where you would expect. A standard 1913 Picatinny rail on top makes optic mounting easy. No extra rails or goofy additions are needed. Slap your optic on, and enjoy. If additional accessories are added, the Q-Sert handguard can be utilized for lights, lasers, or a bipod.
The 12" barrel is threaded M18x1.5, a reasonably standard thread pitch for 338 caliber barrels. If you want a Porq Chop or Short Chop (which you should be), it's ready to quiet down out of the box. For those who want to branch off and try other brands, The Fix can be outfitted with most muzzle devices made for 338.
This model features a 12" barrel, and as such, all SBR/NFA rules apply.
