HI-POINT HUSH-POINT 45 SUPPRESSOR - MULTI-CALIBER PISTOL SILENCER WITH 1/2X28 AND .578X28 HOST CAPS

The Hi-Point Hush-Point 45 is a multi-caliber pistol suppressor rated for .30 Super Carry, .380 Auto, 9mm, .40 S&W, 10mm, and .45 Auto, along with .300 BLK subsonic and 5.7x28mm. It pairs an aluminum body, muzzle cap, and monocore with a stainless steel host cap and blast chamber sleeve. The Hush-Point 45 measures 7.87" long and 1.50" in diameter and weighs 12.8 oz. Hi-Point designed it around its own pistols and pistol caliber carbines, and it ships with both 1/2x28 and .578x28 host caps.

Either host cap threads directly onto the barrel and needs a 90-degree shoulder to index against. The suppressor hand-tightens with no tools required under normal conditions, and Hi-Point recommends checking that it's still secure before shooting and between strings of fire. For the quietest results, Hi-Point recommends subsonic ammunition, since supersonic loads produce a sonic crack in flight that no suppressor can remove.

Maintenance is handled with a five-piece design that's fully user serviceable. Both end caps have 1" wrench flats, and once they're off, the high-temperature O-ring slides off the monocore so the stainless blast chamber sleeve and body can be cleaned. Hi-Point recommends cleaning every 500 to 1,000 rounds, more often with dirtier ammunition, and warns against ultrasonic cleaners because they can damage aluminum components. Shot-style ammunition should never be fired through the Hush-Point 45.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

Hi-Point built the Hush-Point 45 with its own pistols and carbines in mind, and if you own a few of them in different calibers, one can covers the lot. Everything from .30 Super Carry up to .45 Auto is on the list, plus subsonic .300 BLK and 5.7x28mm, all for a price that won't scare off someone buying their first suppressor.

For a can at this price, getting both 1/2x28 and .578x28 host caps in the box is a bonus. When your next host runs the other thread pitch, you're already covered instead of hunting down a second host cap.

We also like how simple Hi-Point kept the internals. The five-piece design means there aren't many parts to keep track of, so there's less to lose during disassembly and a quicker trip back to the range. Hi-Point went with stainless steel for the host caps, which take the wear of threading on and off a barrel over and over. We'd expect them to hold up better over time than aluminum-on-aluminum threads would.
