The GLOCK 19 Gen6 with a 1/2x28 threaded barrel is a compact 9mm pistol that comes ready for both a suppressor and a red dot. It holds 15 rounds in a standard magazine, weighs 22.5 oz without a magazine, and has a 6.85" slide protected by GLOCK's nDLC finish, which increases resistance to corrosion and abrasion in bad weather. The barrel is a GLOCK Marksman Barrel, whose rifling differs slightly from GLOCK's traditional polygonal profile for improved precision. The threaded barrel ships with a thread protector and is ready to accept one of the many pistol suppressors on the market.

The Gen6 frame was designed around hand measurements of all shapes and sizes. A palm swell follows the natural curve of the hand. The RTF6 grip texture blends two textures into one and now covers the thumb rest, which is also extended for more control in recoil. Together, the enlarged beavertail and undercut trigger guard encourage a higher grip. GLOCK also enlarged the border around the ambidextrous slide stop lever to prevent unintentional activation, and angled the slide serrations deeper for more positive slide manipulation.

Every Gen6 pistol ships with a flat-faced trigger for consistent finger placement and keeps the Safe Action System, which uses three passive, independently operating mechanical safeties that disengage as the trigger is pulled and re-engage when it's released. The slide is optic-ready with the Gen6 Optic Ready System, and three optic plates come in the box so a red dot can be screwed directly into the slide.
