Energetic Armament Big Sixy

ENERGETIC ARMAMENT BIG SIXY SUPPRESSOR - FULL-AUTO RATED, 6MM AND 5.56, HUB-COMPATIBLE

The Energetic Armament Big Sixy is a compact, full-auto rated suppressor for AR-15s chambered in 5.56 NATO or 6mm ARC. It is additively manufactured (DMLS) from Inconel 718. It measures 6.7" long and weighs 14.7 oz, with a hexagonal body that is 1.65" flat-to-flat and 1.83" at its widest point. Energetic rates the Big Sixy for 6mm ARC, 5.56 NATO, 5.45x39, 5.7x28, and 6 PRC. It threads onto a HUB (1.375x24) mount, which is sold separately.

The hexagonal shape does more than set the Big Sixy apart visually. Its six flat faces add external surface area, which improves convective heat transfer and speeds cooling between strings of fire, and they give you a positive grip during installation and removal. Up front, the muzzle end has an integrated flash hider with prongs and recessed, textured anechoic surfaces that scatter flash and break up sound at the exit, with no added length or extra parts. Inside, the optimized gas management design controls pressure and flow to reduce felt recoil and shooter fatigue over extended firing schedules.

Like every Energetic Armament suppressor, the Big Sixy uses the company's patented Serial ID Ring, the registered NFA component that carries the serial number and tax stamp markings. If the core ever needs service or replacement, the ring transfers to the new core and your paperwork stays intact, with no new Form 4 required.

For mounting, Energetic recommends its Project E tapered adapter. The Big Sixy also works with any HUB-compatible mount, and blast baffle clearance is 1.80".

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

The Big Sixy lands in a sweet spot that not a lot of suppressors hit. If you've got an AR-15 in 5.56 or 6mm ARC (or both), this can is right at home on either one. It's Inconel 718 built for heat and sustained fire, it's full-auto rated, and at 6.7" and 14.7 oz it keeps a carbine handy instead of turning it into a log.

That hex shape isn't just for looks, either. The flat sides give you a real grip when you're cranking it onto a mount, and they help it shed heat between strings. We're also big fans of the built-in flash hider on the front end, since you get flash mitigation without tacking on any extra length.

The HUB interface keeps you out of a proprietary mounting system, so there's a good chance it works with mounts you already own, and Energetic's Project E is a solid pick if you're starting fresh. The Serial ID Ring is a nice bonus too, since a damaged core doesn't send you back through the Form 4 process. Whether you're building a 6mm ARC precision AR or a hard-running 5.56 carbine, the Big Sixy deserves a hard look.
