DILLON RIFLE COMPANY DRC556 HUSH KIT - COMPACT 5.56 SUPPRESSOR, DMLS INCONEL AND TITANIUM
The Dillon Rifle Company DRC556 Hush Kit is a dedicated 5.56 suppressor built from 3D-printed Inconel 718 or Titanium via DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) technology. At 5.38 inches suppressor-only and 5.75 inches with the included 1/2x28 direct thread mount, the DRC556 is one of the more compact 5.56 cans available without the usual performance tradeoff. The patented Purposely Induced Porosity (PIP) technology uses a variable metal foam structure to control gas flow in a way that conventional baffle stacks cannot replicate. Independent testing by PEW Science (Report 6.194) showed muzzle suppression on par with suppressors nearly two inches longer. The HUB/Bravo 1.375x24 mounting interface gives you access to the full ecosystem of QD adapters on the market. If you are looking for a short 5.56 suppressor that performs beyond its length, the DRC556 is a serious option.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
The DRC556 Hush Kit is one of the more technically interesting suppressors we carry. Most compact 5.56 cans get short by trimming baffle volume and accepting a performance tradeoff. Dillon took a different route. The PIP technology uses a variable metal foam structure to manage gas flow in a way that baffle geometry alone cannot achieve, and the PEW Science data confirms the result. At 5.38 inches, you are not giving much up on the muzzle end compared to full-size 5.56 cans, and the DMLS construction means the internal geometry is repeatable in a way that hand-assembled baffles are not.
Material choice matters here. The Inconel 718 version is the right call for high-volume shooters, suppressed SBRs running a lot of rounds, or any setup where heat resistance is the priority. The Titanium version is for the shooter who wants the absolute lightest setup available and is not running sustained full-auto strings. Both versions share the same PIP core and HUB interface, so the choice comes down to your use case rather than a performance difference.
The GOV version is worth a look for those who want a cleaner profile. The untextured finish keeps the outer diameter uninterrupted and is a reasonable choice if the suppressor is going on a precision or duty build where aesthetics matter. At this length and with this kind of independent performance data behind it, the DRC556 is one of the better compact 5.56 options in the current market.
