DEAD AIR WOLVERINE PBS-1 SUPPRESSOR - AK AND COMBLOC RIFLE SILENCER, FULL-AUTO RATED, .300 RUM

The Dead Air Wolverine PBS-1 is a full-auto rated rifle suppressor purpose-built for AK and Combloc platforms. Constructed from a fully welded Cobalt 6 (Stellite) baffle core in a 17-4 PH stainless steel housing with a stainless steel outer tube, finished in Cerakote on the body and nitride on internal parts, the Wolverine weighs 19.8 to 24.4 ounces depending on mount configuration and measures 7.4 inches with thread adapter. Rated for calibers up to .300 RUM at 4,200 ft-lbs of energy with no minimum barrel length restrictions, it covers 7.62x39, 7.62x54R, 5.45x39, 5.56, and 7.62 NATO in a single suppressor. The interchangeable thread insert system accepts nine thread patterns. M14x1 LH, M14x1 RH, M24x1.5 RH, M26x1.5 LH, 15mm, 16mm, 1/2x28, 5/8x24, and 9/16x24 LH with the M14x1 LH insert included. The front cap is removable and cross-compatible with Dead Air Sandman series front caps. With the optional Wolverine HUB Adapter (WV211), the Wolverine also gains full KeyMo, Xeno, and HUB mount compatibility for use on AR-pattern and other non-AK hosts. 

The Wolverine's bore diameter and internal taper are specifically engineered to tolerate the non-concentric barrel threads common across AK variants.  This is a problem that causes baffle strikes on suppressors not designed for the platform. The locking collar system uses the rifle's existing front sight block pin to prevent the suppressor from rotating loose under sustained fire, with two collar sizes included to cover different thread diameters. The baffle geometry is tuned to balance sound reduction with low backpressure, directly addressing the blowback and port noise issues that make over-gassed AK platforms punishing to run suppressed.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

Suppressing an AK has always involved a short list of recurring problems: non-standard thread pitches, non-concentric barrel threads, over-gassed actions that punish the shooter with blowback, and a general lack of suppressor options designed with the platform in mind rather than adapted to it. The Wolverine PBS-1 was built to address all of those problems at once. The thread insert system is the most practical solution to the Combloc thread pitch problem on the market. Rather than stacking thread adapters and compounding the concentricity issue, you swap a single insert designed to fit the Wolverine's bore geometry. The Stellite is harder and more heat-resistant than the 17-4 stainless steel used in most suppressor baffles, which matters on a platform where running hot is the norm rather than the exception. The front sight block pin locking system is simple and reliable. It does not require any permanent modification to the rifle and prevents the loosening that plagues thread-on suppressors under AK recoil. 

The optional HUB Adapter (WV211) is worth picking up if you want the Wolverine to pull double duty on AR-pattern rifles. It adds KeyMo and Xeno compatibility and puts the Wolverine in the standard Dead Air mounting ecosystem. For a dedicated AK build the adapter is not necessary, but it meaningfully expands the suppressor's utility if your safe has both Combloc and AR hosts in it.
