CGS Helios QD - DEMO

3D PRINTED PERFECTION

The CGS Helios QD is specifically designed for 5.56mm rifles and carbines, but it can do far more than any other silencer attempting to compete with it.  Most rifle suppressors on the market are optimized for larger caliber rifles, but can also handle 5.56x45.  With the Helios QD, that thought process was reversed.  While it's optimized for 5.56/.223, it can handle calibers much larger and hotter.   The "Varying Core Diameter" technology is unlike anything used in competing silencers.  It allows for fantastic sound reduction for its size, while also eliminating visual signature and keeping a minimal POI shift.  The taper interface between the silencer and muzzle devices prevents carbon lock. 

With versatility being an important design aspect for CGS, the Helios QD has a .36 bore diameter to reduce backpressure and be used with 7.62 caliber projectiles.  DMLS 718 Inconel was chosen as the build material allowing the Helios QD to be full auto rated with no barrel length restrictions.  It can handle calibers up to 300 Norma Magnum without a problem.  Should the unforeseen happen, CGS has a lifetime warranty utilizing a serialized ring that can be removed and attached to another core quickly.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

Right out of the box, the CGS Helios QD is one of the most feature-rich silencers on the market.  It includes a hard case with custom cut foam and more included accessories than any other silencer in it's class.  Aside from the silencer itself, it comes with an alternate end cap to reduce backpressure even further, two different direct thread mounts, and a 'bravo' mount compatibility ring.  This ring ensures that multiple 3rd party mounting systems can fit without any trouble should there be slight differences in design specifications.  It's 3D printing allows the CGS Helios QD to use geometry that other companies can't come close to.  It's short, versatile, quiet, and durable- there aren't too many negatives about the Helios QD at all.  With that being said, of course the initial negative is the high price point.  While there may be sticker shock initially, it does come with accessories that could easily cost over $400 if purchased alone.  The Helios QD should be considered a comprehensive silencer kit, rather than only a single suppressor.
