CGS SCI-SIX
The SCI-Six is the first dedicated 5.56 silencer from CGS. It was designed around the needs of the modern shooter. Flash and sound mitigation were important, but the design process also included balancing backpressure and the reduction of gas blowback. This keeps the host firearm cycling naturally, reduces carbon buildup, and prevents premature wear on components. Unlike many lower backpressure silencers, the SCI-Six focuses on at-the-muzzle decibel reduction. The result is an exceptionally balanced suppressor concerning sound signature reduction.
Like many other CGS products, the SCI-Six is made through additive manufacturing- more commonly known as 3D printing. This provides several unique benefits over traditional production methods. It eliminates structural weaknesses such as improper welds and allows for unique baffle geometry. This geometry allows for the combination of durability, decibel reduction, and low backpressure. Durability is increased not only by the reduction of structural weaknesses but also by gas and heat dissipation. The SCI-Six vents hot gasses to lower-pressure regions of the suppressor, maximizing sound reduction and temperature distribution efficiency. As an additional benefit, this reduces visual signature when seen under night vision optics.
New for the SCI-Six, the taper-mount muzzle device provides a rock-solid mount while keeping the silencer concentric to the bore. The muzzle device can be torqued snugly down onto the barrel, and the silencer quickly tightens onto it. A tapered surface allows for a larger contact patch than a traditional direct thread system, translating to a stronger mount and a more secure connection.
If that isn't enough, the front caps can also be changed to suit the mission's needs.
