The CAT KK is the shortest suppressor in the CAT 5.56mm lineup. The Inconel 718 DMLS core measures 4.5 inches, and with the included AI NANO quick-detach mount installed, the total system length is just 4.75 inches at 14.5 oz. CAT's Surge Bypass technology manages gas routing to reduce back pressure while maintaining suppression performance in one of the smallest packages on the market. The KK is tuned for 5.56 NATO at velocities between 2,800 and 3,200 ft/s and also covers 6mm cartridges. It mounts exclusively via the AI NANO interface (1x16 LH thread), and a 1/2x28 AI NANO muzzle device is included. PEW Science independent testing confirmed the KK meets or exceeds the hazard reduction of many larger suppressors on the market.

CAT recommends the KK for semi-auto use. It's optimized for 14.5" M4-style carbines but also shines on the Mk18, SCAR-L CQB, HK416, and AR-15 SBRs. The CAT KK has a minimum barrel length requirement of 10 inches.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

The KK occupies a space where very few suppressors compete well. At 4.75 inches total with the mount, it sits firmly in the micro class of rifle suppressors, but its suppression performance punches well above that size class. That is a rare combination, and the PEW Science testing backs it up. The trade-off is that the KK is locked to the AI NANO mount system. If your build is already running or planned around AI NANO, that is a non-issue. If you need to move a suppressor between multiple hosts running different mounts, you will want to look at a different can. For shooters building around a short 5.56 platform and wanting the smallest possible suppressor without sacrificing too much suppression, the KK is worth a serious look.
