Under ATF's October 9 policy, you can buy a suppressor on a 4473 in some states. We still recommend a Form 4: it stays compliant if the policy changes, and ATF approvals come back in days.
CANIK VOID 9 SUPPRESSOR - TITANIUM 9MM SILENCER FOR PISTOLS AND PCCS
The Canik Void 9 is a lightweight titanium suppressor for 9mm pistols and PCCs, developed with and manufactured by Otter Creek Labs. It's additively manufactured from Grade 5 titanium and finished in black Cerakote. The Void 9 measures 6" long and 1.375" in diameter and weighs 7.5 oz. Along with 9x19mm, it's rated for subsonic and supersonic .300 Blackout and .338 ARC, as well as .357 Magnum from lever-action rifles.
For pistol use, the Void 9 comes with a booster assembly made up of a 1/2x28 piston, a Nielsen device spring, and a piston retainer. That setup lets it function across a wide array of pistol platforms. Like the rest of the Void line, it's meant to seat against a 90-degree shoulder, so a barrel with a tapered shoulder needs a tapered cap.
Fixed-barrel hosts work differently. On those, the piston, piston retainer, and spring need to be replaced with a direct thread adapter, which is sold separately. The Void 9's 1.125x28 (Alpha) rear threads accept the SilencerCo Alpha Direct Thread Mount for that role and open the door to other mounting options for PCCs and rifles.
Canik lists no barrel length restrictions for 9x19mm or for subsonic .300 Blackout and .338 ARC. Supersonic .300 Blackout and .338 ARC require a 9" barrel and are limited to semi-auto, and .357 Magnum lever-action rifles need at least an 8" barrel.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
The Void 9 is built for 9mm pistols and PCCs, and we think it handles both jobs well. The Grade 5 titanium build gives you corrosion resistance and strength without the weight penalty of steel, and the Cerakote finish adds a layer of surface protection that holds up over time.
On a pistol, it's ready to go out of the box. The booster assembly with the 1/2x28 piston, Nielsen device spring, and piston retainer is already included, so you're not out sourcing extra parts just to run it on a semi-auto pistol. If a PCC or rifle is in the plans, the Alpha rear threads are a big plus. They open up a broad range of mounting options and keep this suppressor relevant as your lineup changes.
For a titanium can, the Void 9 is priced competitively, and it's worth a look if you want versatile 9mm suppression.
