THUNDER BEAST ULTRA 9 GEN2 PRECISION RIFLE SUPPRESSOR - FULL-SIZE TITANIUM SILENCER, .223 THROUGH .300 RUM

The Thunder Beast Ultra 9 Gen2 is a full-size 9-inch precision rifle suppressor built from Grade 5 titanium with a tubeless, fully-welded construction. At 10 ounces, it is 1.9 ounces lighter than the Gen1, 2 dB quieter at the muzzle, and 5 dB quieter at the shooter's ear. The .30 caliber version covers .223 through .300 RUM in a single silencer, while the 6.5mm version squeezes an additional 2 to 3 dB of suppression out of 6.5mm and smaller cartridges. Sound reduction on the .30 caliber version measures 135 dB milspec and 123 dB at the shooter's ear using M118LR from a 20-inch AI AX. The Ultra 9 Gen2 is available in CB (Compact Brake) and DT (Direct Thread) configurations and can be converted between the two via factory service. Black Cerakote finish with a maximum operating temperature of 800 degrees Fahrenheit.

CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION

Thunder Beast built their reputation on lightweight titanium suppressors for precision rifle shooters, and the Ultra 9 Gen2 is the clearest expression of that philosophy.  Less mass on the muzzle end means less variable load on the barrel, and that translates directly to reduced point of impact shift. In our opinion, CB mounting system is the right choice for most shoots. The suppressor mates to a conical shoulder on the CB brake for a rock-solid lockup, and the brake stays on the rifle when the suppressor is off, so you are not giving anything up between configurations. The DT version is the simpler option if you are running a single dedicated host and want a clean, no-moving-parts setup. Either way, the heat-treated 17-4 thread insert on the DT version and the overall build quality here are consistent with what you would expect from a suppressor in this tier.
