The SureFire SOCOM556-RC is the first-generation SOCOM 5.56 rifle suppressor, the model selected by U.S. Special Operations Command for the M4 and Mk18. It mounts with SureFire's Fast-Attach system over a SureFire SOCOM muzzle device.

The SOCOM556-RC2 Fast Attach suppressor is SureFire's latest full-sized 5.56 suppressor. This 2nd-Gen model features a new front-plate and baffle enhancements from the original SOCOM design making them even stronger and better performing. Constructed from Inconel and Stainless Steel, the SOCOM556-RC2 features a more advanced internal venting system to reduce back pressure, reducing the suppressed cyclic rate and gas blowback on the operator. The redesigned front-plate eliminates first-round flash.
This second generation SOCOM556-RC2 securely mounts to previous generation SureFire muzzle brakes or flash hiders and produces minimal, consistent shift in point of impact.
