LIGHTWEIGHT, PRECISE AND QUIET - The Helios 556 DT suppressor by CGS Group was designed to compete in the long range precision category. With accuracy and repeatable point of impact shift a top priority, the guys at CGS set out to design a 556 suppressor that also allowed for peak sound reduction - a combination not yet seen in the LRP category. The Helios DT utilizes a "tubeless" circumferentially welded design for maximum strength and durability. It's compact design and larger diameter allows for easy maneuverability in confined areas while keeping sound reduction at a maximum.
The exterior finish of the Helios DT is coated in diamond-like carbon coating or DLC. In comparison to cerakote, DLC offers better heat resistance for a longer lasting finish. Internally CGS is the first to utilize S-Line coating allowing for baffle preservation and reduced carbon fouling.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
CGS has demonstrated an ability to make suppressors quieter than many others in the same class. Across the board, their cans simply sound great. The Helios 556 DT is no exception. It adds a minimal amount of weight to the end of the barrel, doesn't degrade accuracy, and most importantly sounds fantastic. The direct thread setup allows users to quickly put it on most any 5.56 rifle without the need for additional muzzle devices. It's a great contender for anyone seeking a light weight AR-15 setup or for a predator hunting rifle in 5.56 where weight is a concern.
