GODDESS OF THE NIGHT .338 SUPPRESSION
The CGS Hekate silencer is designed for 338 caliber projectiles, mainly 338 Norma Magnum and 338 Lapua Magnum. While many companies make a 7.62 silencer larger, CGS has considered the special needs of suppressing these larger calibers. As with CGS's other rifle offerings, the Hekate features VCD (Variable Core Diameter) Technology first used on the Hyperion 762. The technology is unique to CGS products and allows for peak sound and flash signature reduction combined with minimal point of impact shift.
Engineered to be a precision rifle silencer, it displays incredible suppression, is lightweight, and has a minimal vertical on/off POI shift. There are no barrel length restrictions, demonstrating that it's built rock-solid even with minimal weight. The Direct Metal Laser Sintered (DMLS 3D printed) heat-treated 6AL4V titanium makes up the core of the Hekate, significantly reducing overall weight while remaining strong. CGS chose this process as it allows for building a silencer with fewer points of failure, improved sound reduction, increased durability, and achieving geometry not easy through traditional means.
CAPITOL ARMORY'S OPINION
The CGS Hekate is one of, if not the most quiet, 338 cans on the market. It's an absolute beast at reducing the audio signature on large rifles, but only a moderate 17.9 ounces in weight. This makes it lighter than most other rifle cans built for smaller calibers. This is largely due to the full titanium construction and 3D printing. The manufacturing process allows CGS to make a can with geometry nearly impossible to do by traditional means, reducing weight and any chance for weak points in the metal. The 5/8x24 threading will mount to most modern 30 cal rifles on the market; the 3/4x24 is a standard pitch for many .338 rifles, and the M18x1.5 for 8.6. For those looking for 7.62 and 338 suppression, the CGS Hekate needs strong consideration.
