The CAT MOB is a dedicated 9mm suppressor built specifically for pistol caliber carbines and submachine guns. Constructed via Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) 3D printing in Titanium, the MOB uses CAT's proprietary DiVerge pressure management system to move gas forward and away from the shooter while reducing sound, flash, and felt recoil. The MOB covers 8.6mm through 9mm with no minimum barrel length restrictions with a DLC finish. If you run an MP5-pattern host, APC9, B&T, or any other 9mm PCC and want a suppressor engineered from the ground up for that platform rather than adapted from a pistol can, the MOB is one of the few options purpose-built for the job. 

DiVerge technology operates differently from competing approaches like flow-through technology or PIP lattice structures. PEW Science testing on the HK SP5 found that the MOB's gas stage progression is continuous from early time through complete blowdown, meaning suppression efficiency does not drop off as chamber pressure decreases during the firing cycle. This gives it consistent performance across both subsonic and supersonic 9mm loads across the full 0 to 1,200 ft/s velocity range. 

The MOB is optimized for SMG and PCC platforms. It can physically mount to pistols, but CAT notes that its center of momentum may cause cycling issues on some handgun platforms. It performs best on hosts where the added weight does not interfere with reliable action cycling.

Most 9mm suppressors are pistol cans that get pressed into PCC duty. The MOB is not that. CAT designed this suppressor around the pressure and gas dynamics of SMG and PCC platforms, and the DiVerge system reflects that focus. PEW Science's testing on the SP5 confirmed what the engineering claims on paper: the gas management stays efficient through the entire pressure curve, not just at peak chamber pressure. That matters on 9mm hosts where blowback and backpressure have a direct effect on how comfortable the gun is to shoot suppressed for extended strings.
