The B&T APC223/556 SBR is a Swiss-engineered short-barreled rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO, built to the same standards B&T supplies to military and law enforcement worldwide. A short-stroke gas piston system with a 3-position adjustable gas valve keeps the gun running clean through heavy suppressed use, while a hydraulic buffer system significantly reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise. The fully ambidextrous lower receiver puts every control within reach regardless of hand dominance, and the 8-position folding MBT stock delivers mission-ready adaptability in a compact, hard-use package. The end of the barrel features a standard 1/2x28 thread pitch with a B&T SOCOM-compatible flash hider. If you are looking for a suppressor-ready 5.56 SBR built without compromise, the APC223 is engineered for exactly that role.

The APC223 is not a dressed-up range toy. B&T built this rifle to a specification that was needed by professional end users, and the design choices reflect that. The adjustable gas valve separates this rifle from most of its competition. As fouling accumulates from extended suppressed sessions or high-volume shooting schedules, you can tune the system to keep cycling reliably. The Swiss have a reputation for engineering for a reason. The hydraulic buffer, combined with the gas piston system routing propellant gas forward of the shooter, results in a suppressed shooting experience that is noticeably better than a comparable direct-impingement SBR. Recoil and blowback are both reduced, allowing the shooter to stay on target. 

The fully ambidextrous controls are done right. The bolt release, magazine release, safety selector, and charging handle are all mirrored and functional, making the APC223 one of the most user-adaptable 5.56 platforms available. If you are buying an SBR and plan to run a suppressor on it, this is one of the few rifles where the suppressor integration was designed from the start rather than tacked on after the fact.
