The FEG HD-18 is a new-production Dragunov-pattern sporting rifle chambered in 7.62x54R, built in Hungary by FEG - the original SzVD license holders. Every component is manufactured from scratch at FEG's Budapest facility to the same tolerances as the original military pattern, then tested and certified to C.I.P. standards before export. The Dragunov is one of the most recognizable military rifles ever produced. For most American collectors, it has also been one of the least accessible. Genuine SVD rifles command $25,000 or more on the current market, and Chinese NDM-86 variants run $10,000+ when they surface at all. Import restrictions have kept authentic Dragunov-pattern rifles out of American hands since the early 1990s.

What makes the HD-18 credible is the provenance behind it. FEG - Fegyver es Gepgyar - is not a new company working from publicly available drawings. They held the actual SzVD manufacturing license and built Hungary's military-issue Dragunov rifles under that license. The HD-18 is built on that institutional knowledge and tooling, not reverse-engineered from it. The result is a rifle that carries legitimate Cold War lineage at a fraction of the cost of comparable alternatives. 

The factory-matched PSzO-1M2 scope is a meaningful inclusion. It ships zeroed to the rifle, so there is no fitting or adjustment required out of the box.
